A trailer has been released for an upcoming horror-thriller titled No Escape that follows a social media star and his friends who find themselves trapped in a nightmarish torture room in Moscow where they are forced to play a dangerous “game” to survive. How do they do that? Well, they have to solve a series of puzzles and if they don’t get them right, they face brutal torture and death. Oh yeah, and the whole thing is being live-streamed. Sounds like the kind of situation that you’d hate to find yourself in!
The movie has the same vibe as Saw and its mixed in with the whole Escape Room thing. What makes this slightly different is the whole social media aspect of it and how getting hits, likes, and followers, drives people to do stupid-ass dangerous things.
The film is directed by the same director who helmed a little film titled Escape Room back in 2017, Will Wernick, and it stars Keegan Allen, Holland Roden, Denzel Whitaker, Ronen Rubinstein, Pasha Lynchnikoff, George Janko, and Siya. Here’s the synopsis:
A social media star travels with his friends to Moscow to capture new content for his successful VLOG. Always pushing the limits and catering to a growing audience, he and his friends enter a cold world of mystery, excess and danger. As the line between real life and social media is blurred, the group must fight to escape, and survive.
No Escape hits video-on-demand and Digital on September 18, 2020.
