Shia LaBeouf has exited the film Don’t Worry, Darling due to a scheduling conflict, and singer and actor Harry Styles has signed on to take his place. Styles made his acting debut in the 2017 film Dunkirk, and did a great job, so I am excited to see him in a new role.
Don’t Worry, Darling is being directed by Olivia Wilde, after her directorial debut with the 2019 film Booksmart. Katie Silberman (Booksmart) wrote the screenplay for the film, based on a spec script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke.
Styles joins Wilde in the cast, as well as Florence Pugh (Little Women), Dakota Johnson (The Peanut Butter Falcon), and Chris Pine (Wonder Woman). Don’t Worry, Darling is described as a “psychological thriller set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert.”
This sounds like a weird and intriguing story with a lot of great and talented people on board. I am excited to hear more about it. Don’t Worry, Darling is currently in pre-production.
