MONSTER HARVEST Looks to Blend POKEMON and STARDEW VALLEY Into Potential Amazingness

Developer Maple Powered Games and publisher Merge Games have teamed up to create what will probably shortly become everyone’s new gaming obsession called Monster Harvest. The game is a farming action RPG that appears to blend almost to perfection Pokémon and Stardew Valley. Both of those games are popular in their own rights and I can only imagine how many people are going to be playing Monster Harvest which combines those two.

In Monster Harvest, players will be taking care of a farm. However, the crops can be mutated into a variety of Planimal companions that you can take with you to explore the world and fight enemies. The game will also feature 3 distinct seasons which will affect the crops that you can grow and therefore affect the Planimals you can obtain.

Features Overview

  • Farm with mutants! Use magical slimes to mutate the crops you grow on your farm.

  • Collectible Planimal companions! Some slimes mutate your crops into Planimals!

  • Three unique seasons: Dry, Wet, and Dark – Strange weather and seasons shift what the player can grow.

  • Explore the world of Planimal Point – Venture into the town of Planimal Point and discover the people and creatures that live there.

  • Craft and place dozens of items on your farm!

I’ll be honest, the artwork looks great except I don’t like the character sprites. The Planimals and environment look great, it’s just the human character designs that I don’t care for. That being said, I’m definitely going to try Monster Harvest out. No release date or specifics have been given but the game will be available on both PC and console. You can even add Monster Harvest to your Steam wishlist now.
