“We can’t let that happen… Christmas must endure! Let’s do this!”

Kurt Russell is back in action as Santa Claus in a full trailer that was released for Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles 2, which is the sequel to the beloved holiday hit The Christmas Chronicles. Fans of the first film have been excited about this sequel, and as you’ll see in the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be a ridiculously fun movie!

The story follows Kate Pierce, who is now a cynical teenager, as she unexpectedly reunites with Santa Claus when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy Christmas forever. I enjoyed the first film, and this sequel looks like it will at least be just as fun, so I’m excited to watch it!

The upcoming sequel is being directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone) and will welcome the return of Darby Camp as Kate, Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Claire, and Judah Lewis as Teddy. New additions to the cast include Julian Dennison as Belsnickel and Jahzir Bruno as Jack. Tyrese Gibson has also joined the cast.

Here’s the synopsis:

It’s been two years since siblings Kate (Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Lewis) saved Christmas, and a lot has changed. Kate, now a cynical teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend and his son Jack (Bruno). Unwilling to accept this new version of her family, Kate decides to run away. But when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate and Jack are unexpectedly pulled into a new adventure with Santa Claus (Russell).

The Christmas Chronicles 2 will premiere on Netflix on November 25th.
