Justin Hartley, best known for his role in the hit NBC series, This Is Us, has signed on to executive produce and star in the adaptation of The Noel Diary that’s coming to Netflix. The story is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Richard Paul Evans, and it is being directed by Baby Boom and Father of the Bride writer and directer Charles Shyer.
Deadline reports the following synopsis:
The story follows best-selling author Jacob Turner who returns home on Christmas to settle his estranged mother’s estate. There he discovers a diary that may hold secrets to his own past and that of Rachel – a beautiful young woman on a mysterious journey of her own. Together, they embark on an adventure to confront their pasts and discover a future that’s totally unexpected.
Bonnie Bedelia (Die Hard, Parenthood) and Treat Williams (Everwood, Hair) are also attached to star alongside Hartley. We last saw Hartley in the thriller The Hunt, and we will see him next in the upcoming fifth season of This Is Us.
