Just in case you didn’t know, Ben Stiller actually auditioned for the role of Marty McFly in the classic ‘80s film Back to the Future. Thanks to Entertainment Tonight, his audition tape has been released online, and you can watch it below!
It’s interesting and strange getting a glimpse of a young Ben Stiller in the role of Marty. While he didn’t get the part, it seems like he actually would have been good in the role. He ended up losing out on the role to Eric Stoltz, who ended up being fired and replaced by Michael J. Fox during production.
The audition footage contain dialogue from the scene where Marty and Lorraine are sitting in the car before the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance.
The actor’s audition footage, as well as that of stars like C. Thomas Howell, Billy Zane, and Jon Cryer, is part of the Back to the Future: The Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray collection, which is out now.
