Actor Vin Diesel, best known for his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, as well as voicing the character Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, has turned to music during his pandemic-induced film hiatus. A month ago, the actor debuted his first single, Feel Like I Do, and now he has another single that dropped this weekend, titled “Days Are Gone.”

These released tracks were previously described as a “physical manifestation of Diesel’s love for music,” and when he dropped his first single, he said on Instagram:

“For so long, I have been promising to release music… encouraged by you, to step out of my comfort zone. Thank you for believing in me. As always, I hope to make you proud.”

In a recent interview with James Cordon on The Late, Late Show, Diesel said his new song “kind of represents how we all feel right now, reminiscing about a time pre-COVID where our lives were different.” He added, “I can’t say it’s about the pandemic, but I can say it’s about something that I think people will relate to. The nostalgic element of the song, I think people will really gravitate to. I hope they do.”

I hadn’t heard the first track yet when I listened to “Days Are Gone,” so I had no idea what to expect, but went in with pretty low expectations. I was surprised how much I liked it! Diesel has a deep, smooth voice, and I liked the dance element to the song. I went back and listened to “Feel Like I Do,” and I liked it as well, but I like this new song better.

Check out Days Are Gone below, and let us know what you think!
