Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming true-crime docuseries Trial 4, which follows the life of Sean K. Ellis, a man who spent 22 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of murder.
In a 1993 trial that was wrought with the suspicion of police corruption, 19-year old Ellis was placed at the scene of a drug store, where he stated he had purchased diapers for his cousin, then had gone home. When a Boston police officer was fatally shot later that night, Ellis was brought in as the prime suspect.
After three trials, which resulted in two hung juries and a 2015 release from prison based on new evidence, Ellis is preparing for a fourth trial which could result in his returning to prison for life. This is a timely case, and a heartbreaking story that will be fascinating to see play out.
Check out the trailer below, and watch all eight parts of the docuseries Trial 4 when it hits Netflix on November 11th.
