If you enjoy watching stand-up comedy, I’ve got a trailer here for a movie that you might be interested in checking out. The comedy is titled The Opening Act, and it tells the story of a struggling stand-up comedian. The movie was made by comedians and it looks like it’ll be an entertaining story.

The movie stars Jimmy O. Yang as Will, who is trying to live his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. As you might imagine, he’s having a rough go at it, but finds help from those who have already made it.

The film was written and directed by Steve Byrne, and it’s executive produced by Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley. The film also stars Alex MoffatCedric The EntertainerNeal BrennanDebby RyanKen JeongBill BurrWhitney CummingsJermaine FowlerRussell PetersTom Segura, and Iliza Shlesinger.

Here’s the synopsis:

Will (Jimmy O. Yang) has it all – the job, the girl – but what’s missing is his true passion in life, to become a stand-up comedian. When he gets the opportunity he’s been waiting for, the emcee slot on the road opening for his hero Billy G., the realities of life on the stage come crashing in. Between relentless hecklers, drunk comedy groupies and hard-to-impress morning radio DJs, things get off to a rough start. Even if he can take the opportunity to learn from his idols and overcome the challenges, Will still needs to decide if he should continue with the life he has, or pursue the one he has always dreamt of – the life of a comedian.

The Opening Act will be released in select theaters and on VOD starting October 16th.
